Hair Space, located in the historic Ceretana building, is a beautiful westside salon crafted to nourish One’s nervous system.
Over the last decade, I have honed my skills to get the most out of natural hair texture creating custom shapes and maintaining the hairs integrity. I value healthy hair and work to preserve this above all else. A custom haircut does wonders, opening up new ways of perceiving ourselves. Though I am a hair care professional, it is always a team effort. I hold no authority over what will work best for you. When you sit in my chair I want to empower you, sharing all the information I have accumulated. You know how your hair behaves, you know the tools and products that you use and what will serve your lifestyle. We get to co-create a hair expression that suits you most. At the start of 2022, I ended my time with the toxic chemicals and plastic waste associated with coloring services to focus solely on caring for the fabric of the hair. How I See It
The dominant culture of esthetics continues to work hard to put beauty in a box and I do my best not to participate. It can be hard to determine what is actually going to suit our needs while being told from all angles that we need fixing. I've learned that, for me, simple is best. It often only requires a small tweak to my care routine (or creating one moment of caring for myself) to make a big shift. The products that I stock in the shop and the tools that I sell are in line with these beliefs. The only fixing needed is in the systems that serve to break our spirits and our ability to see ourselves clearly. We are innately beautiful, dynamic and changing all the time. We are survivors of the human story bringing a variety of perspectives that make the world richer.
